Red Spruce is a maker of handwork rugs and carpets hooked in Nova Scotia. Founder Michael Christie is clearly no stranger to top quality, so he got in touch with us. He had a logo and needed a website and business cards. We needed to a site that would display the works and communicate the quality authentic quality of the pieces. We came up with a creative direction that used the product as the centerpiece and relying on photos of designs and close-up shots that really let the workmanship and texture of the different hooking methods shine through.
We worked with Yonen Labs to develop a custom CMS with a lot of control over images, especally how and where they’re sized and cropped. It’s all in the hands of the person doing it for the ultimate control in presentation. Each rugs links to the profile artist behind the design.
The personalities page shows the individuals who were commissioned to design various rugs, with a profile and list of their designs linking back to that rug, making for an interesting experience.
