With the Canada Games fast approaching we were asked if we could design a new section of the Herald’s website, sort of a microsite, for their coverage of all things Canada Games 2011. It was a super-tight deadline, so we said “lets get on it tomorrow” and they said “all right”.
We redesigned the Herald's story pages to be more modern with a really huge featured photo and room for any other media that was available.
The site had to be built to work with their publishing platform (Drupal) dynamically, different pieces of content would be coming in different ways over the span of the Games. We had to take this into consideration so the design would flex and fit into place so it could maintain its good looks.
Map of the venues for different events. It’s mostly Google here, but it’s big and usable and hi there approved.
